Corporation has converted a piece of barren land into a lush green lawn by planting 2500 trees and plants and 4500 shrubs. To enhance the beauty of the park, nine Wire Figures for making topiary have been installed.
New Delhi: Defence Ministe Rajnath Singh on Tuesday inaugurated SDMC’S Indraprastha Park and Yoga Centre in Sagarpur. He said that the effort will help in providing fresh and clear air to the residents living in this area. The Civic Body has converted a piece of neglected land in to a green park. Earlier, the land was witnessing dumped garbage and debris. Yoga Centre constructed inside the park premises will to improve health of residents. He asked local residents to help the Civic Agency to unsure upkeep and maintenance of the park in a proper manner.
Defence Minister said that development of parks is necessary for a metro city like Delhi as parks are like lungs for cities. He said that focus should be given on various programmes like Swachhta Abhiyaan, Ayushman Yojana, Ayurveda-Yunani Method, Fit India, Khelo India so people could enjoy a good health and healthy environment.
Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said that the park is 3.26 acres of land. Corporation has converted this piece of barren land into a lush green lawn by planting 2500 trees and plants and 4500 shrubs. To enhance the beauty of the park, nine Wire Figures for making topiary have been installed. For walking, a 477-meter long Pakka Walkway has been constructed. One Borewell has been installed in the park for irrigation purposes. For illumination, 52 Fancy lights and three High Mast lights have been installed in the park. For physical and mental activity, one set of Open gym, seven Children Play Equipments and a Yoga Centre has been constructed inside the park. The park has two gates for entry and exit and one Porta Cabin has been developed. For sitting arrangements, 25 RCC Benches and four Gazebo huts have been installed.
Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta that the park is being dedicated to citizens on International Women’s Day. Since developing parks is necessary for crowded areas.
