A couple from Bhopal was apprehended by the police on Wednesday following the circulation of a video purportedly depicting them assaulting the man’s grandmother, as confirmed by an official statement.
Upon noticing the widely shared video on social media, authorities took prompt action and detained the couple involved in the alleged incident. In the video, the man can be seen restraining the elderly woman while his wife appears to be striking her with a wooden scale.

According to reports, the footage of the purported assault was captured by one of the couple’s neighbors, shedding light on the distressing situation. In a post on X, Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra shared that the police had registered a case against Deepak Sen and Pooja Sen, who are originally from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
“Bhopal police took cognizance of the viral video. The accused have been identified as Deepak Sen and his wife Pooja Sen, resident of Jhansi Hall Barkhedi in Jahangirabad police station, against whom a criminal case has been registered and both the accused have been searched and arrested. Legal proceedings are ongoing,” the statement posted on X by Bhopal Police Commissioner.

The couple, currently residing in Bhopal’s Barkhedi locality, was swiftly apprehended, and appropriate legal measures are underway, as affirmed by a senior police official. Sources within the police department disclosed that Deepak operates a barber shop in the Barkhedi area under the jurisdiction of the Jahangirabad police station in Madhya Pradesh’s capital city. The exact timing of the incident remains undisclosed at the moment.
