Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has praised the recent election victory of JD Vance as a “historic moment” that will see Usha Chilukuri Vance, a woman of Telugu heritage, take on the prestigious role of the Second Lady of the United States.
Usha Vance, the wife of JD Vance, has family roots in Andhra Pradesh. Her ancestral village, Vadluru, is located near the scenic Godavari town of Tanuku in the West Godavari district, about 35 kilometers from Bhimavaram. This development has sparked a sense of pride within the Telugu community.
In a post shared on X, Naidu expressed his heartfelt congratulations to JD Vance, underscoring the pride of the Telugu people worldwide as Usha Vance, a Telugu-origin woman, takes on a distinguished role in the US administration.

“I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to JD Vance on becoming the US Vice President-elect. His victory marks a historic moment, as Usha Vance, who has roots in Andhra Pradesh, will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady of the US,” Naidu stated in his message.
The Chief Minister added that he looks forward to inviting JD Vance and Usha Vance to Andhra Pradesh to celebrate their roots in the state.
Naidu’s post on X (formerly Twitter) garnered attention as it celebrated both the Indo-US ties and the recognition of the Telugu heritage on a global platform.
