New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday conducted raids at at least nine premises related to Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister P Chidambaram. The searches were conducted in the backdrop of a new case against the MP for allegedly receiving illegal gratification.
The searches were conducted at locations across Chennai, Mumbai, Odisha, and Delhi.
CBI sources say Karti had allegedly received Rs 50 lakh bribe to facilitate visa of 250 Chinese nationals for a power project in Punjab in lieu of illegal gratification between 2010-14.
Meanwhile, Karti tweeted, “”I have lost count, how many times has it been? Must be a record,” he said
