Babban Singh Raghuvanshi Lap Dance Video | The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has removed senior leader Babban Singh Raghuvanshi from all party posts following the circulation of a viral video showing him allegedly engaging in obscene behavior with a dancer during a public celebration.
The video, which has sparked outrage on social media, appears to have been filmed at a wedding event, showing the 70-year-old BJP veteran — a former candidate from the Bansdih assembly seat — seated with a woman dancer on his lap, appearing to grope her and engage in vulgar conduct.
Party Acts Swiftly Amid Viral Scandal
Facing mounting public pressure and media scrutiny, the BJP announced Raghuvanshi’s removal late Thursday evening. He was also stripped of his position as deputy chairman of the Kisan Cooperative Mill in Rasra, Ballia district.
Party insiders said the action was taken to preserve the BJP’s image amid the ongoing Lok Sabha election campaign, particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh where the video has caused political embarrassment.
In a press statement, Raghuvanshi denied any wrongdoing, calling the video “fabricated” and claiming it was part of an internal political conspiracy.
“This is a deliberate attempt to defame me. The video is doctored. Members of MLA Ketakee Singh’s family are behind this,” Raghuvanshi alleged, referring to the sitting BJP legislator from Bansdih.

According to him, the video was shot secretly during a wedding procession in Durgipur village, Bihar, which was attended by various BJP members, including those close to Ketakee Singh.
“They wanted to damage my reputation and my influence in the region. I am 70 now — I have never done such things,” he added.
Legal Action Demanded by Former IPS Officer
The scandal has also drawn the attention of civil society and former law enforcement officials. Amitabh Thakur, ex-IPS officer and president of the Azad Adhikar Sena, has written to the Ballia superintendent of police, demanding a full investigation into the video.
In his letter, Thakur called the visuals “highly obscene” and “shameful,” urging Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to order an official probe to determine the video’s authenticity and to hold those responsible accountable — whether it be for public indecency or for political sabotage.

“Such acts, if proven, are unacceptable from public representatives, especially from a senior political figure. The truth must come out, whether it vindicates or indicts him,” Thakur said.
Political Fallout in Eastern UP
The controversy comes at a sensitive time, with voting ongoing in several parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Political observers say the incident could influence voter sentiment, particularly in Ballia, Bansdih, and nearby districts, where Raghuvanshi held sway among cooperative and rural constituencies.
The BJP has not yet named a replacement for Raghuvanshi in party roles, but sources say a disciplinary committee may investigate further into the matter, especially if the video is verified as authentic.
