“We can tolerate anything but not corruption; Aam Aadmi Party is committed to honesty; I am proud of Bhagwant Mann, we will not let anyone betray Bharat Mata,” said Kejriwal.

New Delhi: AAP National convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appreciated Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s decision of sacking his minister on charges of graft. The AAP Convenor equated the step with the party’s commitment to honesty and Deshbhakti and asserted that it was a first of its kind in Indian history.
Kejriwal stated, “We can tolerate anything but not corruption; Aam Aadmi Party is committed to honesty; I am proud of Bhagwant Mann, we will not let anyone betray Bharat Mata. In 2015, when AAP came to power in Delhi, I had taken a similar step against my Food & Supplies Minister. The people of Punjab are very happy because of CM Bhagwant Mann’s decision; the opposition is rattled, they do not know what to say and who to oppose. Till now we saw how political parties worked like a nexus of scamsters; let alone punishing their own, they didn’t even take action against leaders of other parties. All parties start looting public coffers the day they form their government; this is the first instance of a government taking immediate action against corruption,” he said.
“We will not watch our Bharat Mata get insulted and cheated by these criminals; we will lay our lives down, but not tolerate any kind of treason; we will not betray our nation, nor will we let anyone do so. Aam Aadmi Party has begun the revolution of honesty and Deshbhakti to develop a thriving & prosperous India. AAP has proven that parties and governments can be run with honesty and without corruption,” he added.
Kejriwal said, “Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann sacked his Health Minister on charges of corruption today. A case has been filed against Punjab’s former health minister, and he is being arrested. No one in the media or the opposition was aware of this corruption – if Mann Saab wanted, he could have colluded with the corrupt minister and kept a share for himself.
“This is how most administrations function, by conniving and hiding their government’s corrupt activities. But Sardar Bhagwant Mann did not resort to these immoral ways. He took it upon himself to take immediate actions against the corrupt health minister. All of us at the Aam Aadmi Party, the state of Punjab, as well as the entire nation, are extremely proud of him. In 2015, when AAP came to power in Delhi, I took a similar action against our Minister of Food and Civil Supplies – I had received evidence of his corruption, without anyone else in the media being aware of it. I had taken strict action against him the moment I found out. The Aam Aadmi Party is a staunchly honest government, meaning that we will not forgive even our own people if they decide to take the wrong path and indulge in corrupt activities,” he added.
“All the governments in the past followed the same system of connivance, whether they not only let their own corrupt leaders off the hook, but also colluded with people from other parties and refused to take action against each other. This is the first time that a political party is taking swift action against its own faulty leaders,” he said.
