On Wednesday, An Indian passenger allegedly urinated on a fellow traveler whilst on board an Air India flight from Delhi to Bangkok. The airlines issued a statement in which it confirmed this incident, also saying that it’s crew had followed all the necessary procedures after this incident occurred.
In it’s statement Air India has confirmed that an incident involving unruly behavior by a passenger was reported by the cabin crew on flight AI2336 from Delhi to Bangkok on April 9, 2025. The airline stated that the crew adhered to all established protocols and the matter has been reported to the relevant authorities.
According to the statement, the passenger involved was issued a warning, while the victim—reported to be an employee of a well-known multinational corporation—was assisted in filing a complaint with authorities in Bangkok.
‘Alongside issuing a warning to the disruptive passenger, our crew offered assistance to the affected individual in raising the matter with Bangkok authorities, though the offer was declined at the time. The standing Independent Committee will now review the incident to determine any necessary action against the unruly passenger. Air India continues to comply with all DGCA-prescribed procedures in such cases,’ the airline added.”

This is the second such incident that has occurred aboard Air India, the most recent had happened almost three years back in 2022.
The 2022 Shankar Mishra urination case aboard Air India
In November 2022, a similar incident occurred on an Air India flight, involving a Mumbai resident named Shankar Mishra. He allegedly urinated on an elderly woman during a New York to Delhi flight on November 26.
At the time, Mishra was serving as a vice president at Wells Fargo in India, a multinational financial services company headquartered in California.
In January 2023, the Delhi Police charged him with sexual harassment and obscenity. Subsequently, the airline barred him from flying for 30 days.
