Gupta said that even after 75 years of Independence, no Delhiite wants any symbol of slavery still to be part of our life. But despite five-six months gone the Arvind Kejriwal government didn’t even bother to even reply let alone do the needful despite being told.
New Delhi: Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta on Wednesday gave a formal name of Madhavpuram to village Mohammedpur after as a resolution was reportedly passed to this effect by removing the earlier board and putting up the one with new name on it. He said that from now onwards, the village will be known as Madhavpuram instead of Mohammedpur. Later, he told the media persons that this is just the beginning and in future as well we will change the name of those 40 villages for which people there have raised their voice.
Gupta said that even after 75 years of Independence, no Delhiite wants any symbol of slavery still to be part of our life. But despite five-six months gone the Arvind Kejriwal government didn’t even bother to even reply let alone do the needful despite being told. This had made villagers quite angry but now they are happy after the name of this village being changed, he asserted.
The Delhi BJP president said that the South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Town Planning Department wrote to state government’s UD wing in this regard on December 9 last year in which later was requested to change the name of Mohammedpur village to Madhavpuram but to no avail. “Today it is first such village whose name has been changed and in future names of 40 such villages in the capital including Humayunpur, Yusuf sarai, Maszid moth, Ber sarai, Fatehpur beri, Masoodpur, Zamroodpur, Begumpur, Sadella jab, Hauz khas, Najafgarh, etc too will be changed. Most of these villages will be named after those social workers or freedom fighters who gave their all for the country,” Gupta added.
He said that the whole country knows how Arvind Kejriwal government is spoiling the atmosphere of Delhi due to his appeasement policy. Whenever something good happens the AAP’s liar ministers and MLAs start coming up with baseless statements to provoke people. But he asserted the BJP had vowed to change the name of 40 villages and will surely do so.
