Amid criticism for failing to act tough against self-proclaimed politician Shrikant Tyagi, Noida administration used bulldozers to raze the illegal construction done by Tyagi in his flat in Grand Omaxe in Noida’s Sector 93. On Noida Authority’s order, JCB machines demolished illegal constructions at his residence at the housing society.

Noida: Self-procliamed politician Shrikant Tyagi who was earlier booked for abusing and pushing woman in a society in Noida was arrested by UP Police after absconding for four days. The police apprehended Tyagi from Meerut after a long chase as he was on run since his video of abusing, pushing and misbehaving with a woman went viral.
Shrikant Tyagi who was claiming to be a BJP was seen showing his muscle might with a woman who is his neighbor in a society in Noida last week. Since the video drew sharp criticism from across the country demanding his immediate arrest, Noida Police booked him under various Sections of the IPC. Tyagi, who is infamous for wrong doing, was on run and was being chased by several teams of police. The Noida Police had later announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for providing his information.

His neighbours had objected Tyagi for illegally occupying society’s common area which had irked Tyagi and he, in the viral video, can be seen abusing the woman for opposing illegal construction.
Since Noida police had launched massive manhunt after formed several teams, Tyagi’s lawyer on Monday filed a surrender application in Surajpur court in Greater Noida. The move was taken after police announced a reward for providing his information.
Noida MP Mahesh Sharma and MLA Pankaj Singh had vowed his arrested. MP Mahesh Sharma, while visiting the society, had asked police officials to take strict action against the absconding politician. Sharma had even faced ire of society residents for not taking immediate action against Tyagi.
BJP leaders had also distanced themselves from Shrikant Tyagi. BJP leader Sambit Patra, during a press conference on Sunday, had categorically said that the party has no relation with Shrikant Tyagi. Patra had said that Tyagi was never been associated with BJP and he is not even the primary member. The opposition parties, however, trained their gun on BJP. Leaders form various opposition parties had alleged sheltering of Tyagi by BJP politicians and officials of Uttar Pradesh.
