A 24-year-old woman from Nagpur, who is the wife of an Air Force personnel, has accused an old classmate and his associates of rape, blackmail, extortion, forced religious conversion, and practising black magic.
In a video, which has now gone viral, the woman is heard saying “Chhodo Mujhe” (let me go) and trying her hard to escape while the accused forcefully holds her hand chanting verses.
Acting on the woman’s complaint, Sonegaon Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Two suspects, Ayyaz Taj Madare from Kalmeshwar and Amin Sheikh, have been taken into custody. Hazrat Maulana of Tamia, Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, remains absconded. the investigation are underway.
In a report of NDTV, DCP Suresh Reddy said: “In her complaint, the woman has alleged rape, extortion, conversion, and black magic. Electronic devices seized are being forensically analysed. This evidence will be very crucial. A police team has gone to another state to search for the maulana who performed the conversion. A thorough investigation is underway.”
“After receiving the complaint, we immediately took the matter seriously, registered an FIR and arrested two accused. We have seized digital evidence from mobile phones and are examining it. Efforts are underway to recover and verify videos that are reportedly circulating. The investigation is still ongoing,” the DCP said, quoted by IndiaTV.
According to the FIR, the alleged incident began on February 8, 2025, when the woman met Ayyaz at a hotel. She alleged that her drink was spiked during the meeting, causing her to lose consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, she claimed that objectionable photographs and videos had been recorded without her consent.
The complainant alleged that the accused threatened to share the photos and videos with her husband and circulate them on social media. She further claimed that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted and that approximately Rs 4 lakh was extorted from her over time through blackmail.

Viral Video Emerges as Key Evidence
Investigators are examining a viral video that has surfaced in connection with the case. The footage allegedly shows the woman crying and pleading to be released while the accused holds her hands and recites religious verses. The woman alleged that the video captures events linked to her alleged forced conversion and subsequent assault.
Allegations of Black Magic and Hypnosis
In her complaint, the woman stated that the accused frequently forced her to consume a liquid brought in a plastic bottle. She alleged that he would recite words in Urdu, blow on her face, and describe the acts as hypnosis or black magic before sexually assaulting her. Police are investigating these claims as part of the broader case.
Forced Nikah and Conversion Claims Under Investigation
According to the woman’s complaint, she was allegedly taken to Tamia in Madhya Pradesh, where a cleric performed religious rituals and solemnised a marriage ceremony under Islamic traditions without her approval. Police stated that these claims form part of the case and are currently being examined as the investigation progresses.
The woman also alleged that she was served beef after the alleged conversion and marriage ceremony. Investigators are examining all aspects of the complaint, including the events that reportedly occurred in Tamia.
