Gurugram: Five persons were rushed to the hospital after consuming mouth freshener at a Gurugram cafe, according to authorities on Monday. The incident unfolded at La Forestta Cafe in Gurugram’s Sector 90, when Amit Kumar, accompanied by his wife and friends, visited the restaurant.
Upon finishing their meals, the group was offered mouth fresheners by the restaurant staff, which resulted in an immediate deterioration of their health. Those who consumed the mouth fresheners began experiencing persistent vomiting and bleeding from their mouths.

Amit Kumar, the primary complainant, alleged that despite their worsening condition, the restaurant management failed to provide assistance and remained indifferent to their distress.
Promptly informed of the situation, Gurugram Police swiftly responded and shifted the affected people to a nearby private hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the restaurant owner. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter to ascertain the cause of the health complications suffered by the patrons. Meanwhile, the manager of the café was arrested.
The incident has raised concerns regarding food safety and hygiene standards at eateries, prompting local authorities to emphasize the importance of stringent regulations and vigilant oversight in the hospitality industry.

Doctors at the Aarvy Hospital said the mouth freshener contained a lethal acid which is life threatening. The group of friends had produced the packet of mouth freshener to the doctors once taken to the hospital.
