Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra Espionage Case | The national security case surrounding YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has taken a deeper turn, with investigators now uncovering her apparent links to Bangladesh, alongside her alleged espionage activities for Pakistan’s ISI. Malhotra, who runs a YouTube channel called “Travel with JO” and boasts over 300,000 subscribers, is under arrest for allegedly sharing classified information with Pakistani intelligence operatives.
Authorities say her growing foreign network, including recent trips to Pakistan, China, and now a planned visit to Bangladesh, points to a wider international nexus being used to push anti-India narratives and collect sensitive strategic data.
Bangladesh Visa Form Raises New Red Flags
Sources within the investigation team have confirmed access to an undated Bangladesh visa application submitted by Malhotra. The form contains her name and lists a temporary address in Uttara, Dhaka, further fuelling suspicions that her proposed visit may have been more than a casual travel plan.
“The suspicion is that Malhotra intended to align with Bangladeshi operatives under the pretext of a video shoot,” said an official involved in the case. The development has prompted agencies to widen their probe into regional spy networks operating under the guise of content creation.
NIA and IB Question Malhotra on Foreign Links
On Tuesday, officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) jointly interrogated the YouTuber. Their focus was on her alleged collaboration with Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIOs) and possible coordination with other foreign agents, particularly in neighbouring countries like Bangladesh.

Malhotra has shown little remorse during the interrogation, according to agency insiders. “She claims she is being targeted for her free speech, but the evidence suggests deliberate and informed involvement in anti-national activities,” a senior official said.
Foreign Trips Under Intelligence Scanner
The Haryana Police, which initially arrested Jyoti Malhotra, is now working closely with central agencies to trace her overseas movements, digital communications, and financial transactions. Her previous visits to Pakistan and China are being thoroughly examined for possible information exchange and foreign funding.

Officials say she was in touch with multiple Pakistani agents, including known ISI handlers, and used her social media reach to influence local audiences with crafted narratives that aligned with Pakistan’s propaganda goals.
Malhotra’s arrest and growing evidence against her come days after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead. Her alleged role in leaking military and strategic information to Pakistan at such a critical time has raised serious concerns about internal security and cyber-enabled espionage.
The fact that she planned a visit to Bangladesh soon after a regime change in Dhaka, which saw political shifts favourable to New Delhi, is also being viewed with heightened alarm. Intelligence agencies are concerned that enemy nations may be realigning strategies via regional networks involving online influencers, content creators, and pseudo-journalists.
