In a significant escalation of hostilities, Yemen’s Houthi rebels conducted drone strikes in Tel Aviv early this morning, claiming to support the ongoing conflicts involving Palestine and Lebanon. According to a statement from the Houthis, their drone operation successfully targeted a “vital target” in the Yaffa area of Tel Aviv, asserting that the drones reached their objectives without being intercepted by Israeli defenses.
“The Drone Air Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces executed a military operation aimed at a key target in Yaffa, ‘Tel Aviv’ in occupied Palestine, utilizing several Yaffa drones. The operation successfully achieved its objectives,” the statement read. This attack was part of what the Houthis describe as the fifth phase of the “Battle of the Promised Conquest,” intended to bolster the efforts of the Palestinian people and Lebanon, as well as support Hamas’s initiative dubbed “Al-Aqsa Flood.”
The Houthis, who control a large portion of Yemen, have positioned themselves as adversaries of Israel and have entered the conflict in solidarity with Hamas since the escalation began in the region last year. They are associated with Iran’s “Axis of Resistance” against Israel and the United States, and they have previously targeted Israeli cities with missiles. In response, Israel has conducted airstrikes in Yemen aimed at critical infrastructure, including power plants and seaports linked to Houthi arms transfers.
In a separate development, Israel conducted airstrikes in Beirut today, reportedly killing at least six individuals, following the deaths of eight Israeli soldiers in combat operations in Lebanon. This marked a significant moment, as it was the first loss for Israeli forces since their incursion to target Iran-backed Hezbollah.

The Israeli airstrikes hit a Hezbollah rescue facility in central Beirut and struck the southern suburb of Dahiyeh, an area linked to the recent assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This prompted Iran to launch its most extensive missile assault on Israel to date, firing over 180 missiles in retaliation for the killings of key figures in the region.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, addressed the UN Human Rights Council, condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank, warning that such aggression is pushing the region toward a “serious crisis.”
The Group of Seven (G7) leaders expressed strong concern over the escalating situation, advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the crisis, emphasizing that a wider conflict serves no one’s interests. Since the outbreak of violence following Hamas’s attack on Israeli towns on October 7 last year, over 1,900 people have died and approximately 9,000 have been injured in Lebanon, with around 1.2 million Lebanese displaced due to Israeli strikes, according to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
As the conflict intensifies, the situation in the Middle East remains precarious, with ongoing violence threatening regional stability.
