Delhi Chief Minister greeted to the newly appointed the LG of Delhi.
New Delhi: Vinai Kumar Saxena was appointed as new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on Monday. The appointment of Saxena as Delhi’s new LG was announced by President of India in an order.
A statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the President of India has accepted the resignation of Shri Anil Baijal as Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
“The President of India has been pleased to appoint Sinai Kumar Saxena to be the Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” the statement read.
Delhi Chief Minister greeted to the newly appointed the LG of Delhi. In a tweet in Hindi, he said, “On behalf of the people of Delhi, I extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena. For the betterment of Delhi, he will receive full cooperation from Delhi’s Council of Ministers.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also extended his good wishes to Baijal. He said that together with outgoing Lieutenant Governor Baijal, had done many things for Delhi and tried to solve its various problems. “Along with Mr. Anil Baijal, who was the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, did many things in Delhi and tried to fix many problems. He is a very nice person. I wish him all the best for the future and wish him good health and long life.
Saxena is currently the chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). He was appointed in the post in 2015.
