A former zonal director of the Mumbai office of the NCB, Wankhede’s high-profile raids in October 2021 on a Mumbai cruise and the subsequent seizure of narcotics from Aryan Khan.
Mumbai: Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede, who got entangled in a controversy after the arrest of Aryan Khan, said he has received threats on his social media account.
According to reports, a Twitter handle titles ‘Aman’ sent a message to Sameer Wankhede on August 14 saying “Tumko pata hai tumne kya kiya hai, iska hisaab tumko dena padega (You know what you have done, and you will have to pay for it).” In another message, the user wrote “Tumko khatam kar denge (You will be eliminated).”
Wankhede approached the Goregaon Police and the latter are registering an FIR, said sources. Wankhede’s statement was recorded on Thursday. Sources in the police said the account has zero followers and it is suspected that it was created to issue threats to Wankhede.

Soon after, there were allegations of corruption against Wankhede and the central NCB took over the case form the Mumbai unit. Wankhede was removed from the case and a probe was initiated against him. Later, the NCB had given a clean chit to Aryan Khan.
At one point of time, it had become a direct clash between Wankhede and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik who levelled serious allegations against him and also went to the extent of saying that Wankhede had forged his caste certificate.
Wankhede’s probe into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case of 2020 had also thrown up names of several celebrities and had revealed a possible drugs angle.
