Tripura CM and BJP candidate Manik Saha won in Town Bordowali, Swapna Das won in Surma, and Malina Debnath won from Jubarajnagar constituency.

Agartala: In a major gain for ruling BJP in Tripura assembly bypolls, its three candidates including state chief minister Manik Saha has got elected. The party has won three out of four seats where bypolls were conducted.
Tripura CM and BJP candidate Manik Saha won in Town Bordowali, Swapna Das won in Surma, and Malina Debnath won from Jubarajnagar constituency. Sudip Roy Barman of the Congress won from Agartala constituency. Barman was returned from BJP to Congress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the state chief minister and two other party MLAs who registered their win in bypolls. The PM, in a tweet, said, “I thank the people of Tripura for reposing faith in @BJP4Tripura’s development agenda and blessing our candidates, including CM @DrManikSaha2 Ji with wins in the by-polls. Our Government will continue fulfilling people’s aspirations. I laud our Karyakartas for their hardwork.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted, “Congratulations and congratulations to the Chief Minister @DrManikSaha2 and other candidates and staff of @BJP4Tripura for winning the by-election by a huge margin. Many thanks to the people of Tripura for their unwavering commitment to fulfilling the promise of a prosperous Northeast India @narendramodi.”
Former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb also congratulated the winning BJP candidates. He tweeted, “Congratulated CM Shri @DrManikSaha2 Ji after his victory from 8 Bordowali Constituency in the by-election. Under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji the development journey of Tripura will continue.”
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma congratulate the BJP candidates for their victory in bypolls. “Happy to take part in a padayatra while campaigning in Agartala for Hon’ble CM @DrManikSaha2, who is contesting from Bardowali constituency in Tripura bypolls. Hon’ble Ex-CM Shri @BjpBiplab, several MPs and MLAs of the State also took part in the energetic rally,” Sharma tweeted.
