Shah Rukh Khan undergoes treatment for heat stroke, likely to be discharged today

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad due to a heat stroke, is expected to be discharged on Thursday, according to a police officer.

The multi-speciality K D Hospital, where Shah Rukh Khan is receiving treatment, has not yet released any statement regarding his health.

Shah Rukh Khan was in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to watch an Indian Premier League (IPL) match featuring his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at the Narendra Modi Stadium. “Khan is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is possible that he may get discharged today,” said Om Prakash Jat, Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police.

Gujarat has been experiencing a severe heatwave over the past few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Ahmedabad city was under a “heatwave” on Tuesday and Wednesday, with maximum temperatures reaching 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Despite the extreme heat, KKR secured a spot in their fourth IPL final with a dominant eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday. Videos shared by the official X account of KKR showed Khan celebrating the win with a lap of honour, accompanied by his children Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. Shah Rukh Khan also took the time to greet fans and players at the stadium.

KKR is set to play the final in Chennai on Sunday.
