The SDMC will spend Rs 2.53 crore on the project and the entire work will be completed in a period of one year.

New Delhi: Member of Parliament from West Delhi Parvesh Verma laid the foundation stone of a modern maternity home in Madipur on Saturday. The maternity home will be built by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). The civic agency said that with the completion of the modern maternity home, women living in the area will have easy access to maternity-related medical treatment.
The SDMC will spend Rs 2.53 crore on the project and the entire work will be completed in a period of one year. While the total plot area is 2,075 square metre, a two-storey building will be constructed on it. The building will be earthquake resistant, said officials.

SDMC officials also said all modern and latest medical facilities will be available for women at this maternity home and a 10-bed maternity ward will also be set up at this centre.
Additionally, a doctor’s room, an emergency room, a labour room, ultrasound room, vaccination room, nursery room, aaya room, toilet block and other facilities will be made available. A surface parking for 20 ECS (Equivalent Car Space) will also be available at this centre.
