Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa faces legal trouble as an arrest warrant has been issued against him over allegations of provident fund (PF) fraud. The warrant, signed by PF Regional Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy, has directed Pulakeshinagar police to take appropriate action against the former cricketer.
Uthappa, who managed Centuries Lifestyle Brand Private Limited, is accused of deducting PF contributions from employees’ salaries but failing to deposit the collected funds. The alleged fraud amounts to Rs 23 lakh, causing significant distress to the affected workers.
The PF office noted that this failure has impeded the settlement of workers’ accounts, sparking calls for urgent action.
Warrant Execution Delayed
The warrant, issued on December 4, was returned to the PF office after police discovered Uthappa no longer resides at his registered Pulakeshinagar address. Sources indicate that Uthappa and his family are now living in Dubai. Authorities are actively working to trace his current whereabouts.
