In a tragic turn of events, Instagram influencer and former radio jockey (RJ) Simran Singh was found dead at her residence in Gujarat on Wednesday evening, December 26. Police confirmed the cause of death as suicide on Thursday, following an investigation prompted by a report from a friend who lived with Simran in her Gurugram Sector 47 apartment.
Authorities stated that the room where Simran was found was locked from the inside, and no suicide note was recovered. After the postmortem examination, her body was handed over to her family.
Simran Singh, 25, was originally from Jammu and had garnered a significant following on Instagram, with over 600,000 followers. Known as “Jammu ki Dharkan” among her local fans, she was celebrated nationwide for her work as a freelance radio jockey.
Simran’s last Instagram post, dated December 13, featured her posing by the beach with the caption, “Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown taking over the beach.” Following the news of her death, her social media accounts were flooded with heartfelt comments from fans mourning her loss.
Prominent figures, including Dr. Farooq Abdullah and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed their condolences. The tragedy has left her admirers and followers across the country shocked and grieving.
