As per the report, Wayanad MP has recently sent a letter to the Kerala CM Pinrayi Vijayan in this regard requesting him to carry forward the concerns of people of the state regarding Supreme Court’s direction to the Centre.

Wayanad: Activists reportedly associated with Students’ Federation of India (SFI) on Friday vandalised office of Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi. Attack was made at Congress MP’s office when the activists were taking out a march in Kalpettah area against Gandhi’s inaction towards the plight of Wayanad residents threatened by the Supreme Court’s (SC) direction to impose a buffer zone within a one km radius of ecologically sensitive national parks, bird and wildlife sanctuaries.
The protest turned violent as many of the protesters entered his office and vandalised furniture kept inside. The activists also beat up Congress workers present at the office. Police reached the spot and disrupted the students. Police has reportedly arrested eight activists in this connection and has claimed to investigate the matter.
Reacting over the attack, Kerala Chief Minister Pinrayi Vijayan, in a tweet, said, “Strongly condemn the offence on @RGWayanadOffice. In our country everyone has the right to air their opinions and protest democratically. However, that shouldn’t result in excess. It is a wrong tendency. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.”

Angry due to vandalism in Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s office in his Lok Sabha constituency, Congress workers including MLA T Siddique took out protest march to Wayanad SP office. The Congress workers were seeking immediate arrest of SFI activists involved in the attack. They alleged that the CPM had hatched attack conspiracy to gratify the BJP central leadership.
Condemning the attack, former Kerala CM and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Oommen Chandy wteeted, “I strongly condemn the attack on Shri. @RahulGandhi’s office in Wayanad by SFI members. How could the culprits attack in the presence of police? The culprits must be brought to justice. And the CPM national leadership must make its stand clear regarding the attack.”
Newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi, in a tweet, said, “The cowardly attack on Shri @RahulGandhi’s office in Wayanad, Kerala by SFI goons is strictly punishable by law. Intruding into the office of an MP is criminal enough, while they dared to vandalise it. Kerala govt must take strictest action to bring law & order under control.”
