Apart from leadership issue, the shivir will discuss the party’s plan for upcoming elections
New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday for Udaipur to participate in three-day chintan shivir. He along with hundreds of Congress leaders and party workers boarded the train from Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla railway station in the evening.
“Shri @RahulGandhi received immense response by the public in Pataudi Railway station, enroute to Udaipur, for the ‘Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir – 2022’.” A tweet made by the Congress.
While boarding the train, the Congress leader interacted with the collie association. Informing about the development, Congress party twitted, “Shri @RahulGandhi interacts with a delegation of the coolie association and listens in to their concerns. Finding progressive solutions to our people’s problems is a core goal of the ‘Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir – 2022’.”
Congress general Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala twitted, “Udaipur – A New Milestone of Hope, Aspirations & Change.”
Gandhi, while joining the shivir, is likely to discuss leadership issue with top brass of the party. The shivir will also discuss the party’s plan for upcoming elections. The event is being organised amid growing demand within the party for Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as Congress president.
A section of Rahul Gandhi loyalists have been demanding his comeback as Congress chief while another section, also called as G-23-has been wishing a non-Gandhi family leader on the top post. The chintan shivir is likely to discuss the issue.
