The attack came hours after a Kashmiri Pandit, identified as Rahul Bhat, was allegedly gunned down by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Jammu: In yet another attack by terrorists in less than 24 hours, this time on the security forces, a police constable was shot at in his residence at Gudroo in Pulwama on Friday morning. The constable, identified as Reyaz Ahmad Thoker, was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Kashmir Zone Police on its Twitter handle wrote, “Injured Police Constable Reyaz Ahmad Thoker #succumbed to his injuries at hospital & attained #martyrdom. We pay rich #tributes to the #martyr & stand by his family at this critical juncture. @JmuKmrPolice”.

Tweeting a photograph of Bhat, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had said, “I unequivocally condemn the murderous militant attack on Rahul Bhatt. Rahul was a government employee working in the Tehsil office in Chadoora where he was attacked. Targeted killings continue & a sense of fear grows unchecked. My heartfelt condolences to Rahul’s family. RIP. This young man had his entire life ahead of him & to know that his life was so cruelly extinguished today is tragic. Rest in peace Rahul Bhatt.”
