Chandigarh: Amid reports of solid evidence of corruption charges, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday removed Health Minister Vijay Singla from the cabinet. The sacked minister was reportedly seeking one per cent cut money on tenders. Moments after dropping him from the cabinet, we was arrested by Punjab Police’s anti-corruption branch. A case has reportedly been filed against him.
As per the reports, CM Bhagwant Mann had received a complaint regarding demand of commission by his minister following which action was initiated against him. Mann, in a message, said corruption will not be tolerated at all. He said that Punjab people have voted for a clean government with lots of hope.
“Aam Aadmi Party was born to establish an honest system… @ArvindKejriwal ji has always said that we will not tolerate corruption whether one is his or the other Immediately after getting the evidence of corruption against the health minister, ordered for FIR,” Mann tweeted.
Praising the Punjab Chief Minister, AAP convener Arving Kejriwal tweeted, “Proud of you Bhagwant. Ur action has brought tears to my eyes. Whole nation today feels proud of AAP.”
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia tweeted, “CM @BhagwantMann proved today that there is no place for corrupt people in AAP government, whoever they are. The rest of the parties have always worked to save the corrupt of their party. In the party of only @ArvindKejriwal it is possible that even if you think of doing corruption, you will not be saved.”
Senior party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha tweeted, “Aam Aadmi Party is the only party that has the integrity, courage & uprightness to take action against their own on grounds of corruption. We saw it in Delhi, now we are witnessing it in Punjab. Zer tolerance for corruption. Commendable decision by CM@BhagwantMann.”
