In recently concluded UP assembly elections, Congress won only two seats out of 403 and got a vote share of less than 2.5 per cent. The BSP won only one seat and got a vote share of nearly 13 per cent.
Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday advised former Congress president Rahul Gandhi to set his own house in order instead of taking potshots at other parties. She said that even the BJP is taking advantage of such remarks. Her statement came in the backdrop of Gandhi’s statement in which he had alleged that the BSP supremo gave a clear passage to the BJP in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls as she is feared of “the CBI, the ED and Pegasus”.
Mayawati said that Gandi’s remark is just an example of his party’s inferiority complex, casteist mindset and hatred for the deprived and downtrodden people. She also alleged Congress party of deliberately blocking Dalit people’s emancipation by denying them reservation benefits. “The Congress party has diverted funds for the socially oppressed classes to other purposes,” she said.
The BSP chief alleged that the congress itself is not serious in fighting against saffron brigade and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). “Congress’ own track record is not good against BJP as the party did not appear to be fighting seriously. At the time when ruling BJP appears to be eager to finish democracy, Congress’ performance is dismal,” she added.
She said that Congress leaders should refrain from giving such statements. “Not only Rahul but even Priyanka Gandhi is doing the same by saying that I am afraid of ED and other probe agencies.
