New Delhi: Delhi L-G VK Saxnea on Monday inaugurated the “eSanjeevani” OPD project – an App based National Medical Tele-consultation Service under aegis of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, at the MCD run Hindu Rao hospital in the Capital. With this the MCD and Hindu Rao hospital became the first organizations’ to provide 24X7 Medical Services through the “eSanjeevani” platform.
The L-G said that this initiative will provide specialized health care consultation to lakhs of patients in remote areas throughout the country and facilitate communication among health care experts for better patient care, which has been the dream of Prime Minister. Appreciating the project, he added that this project will benefit the patients in terms of medical advice from the comfort of their homes, access to expert medical advice without referral, reduced visit to hospital and provide much desired benefits to chronic patients, the elderly and pensioners. It will not only promote easily accessible and dispersible health education to people at large, but will also help doctors in access of comprehensive digital data of the patients, quick and timely follow-up and improved patient management.
He said that it was a matter of great satisfaction that MCD had undertaken to launch a program that symbolizes the congruence of Prime Minister’s two visionary and flagship schemes of Jan Aarogya – Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Digital India. He underlined that the Hindu Rao Hospital had taken a huge step forward of implementing this ambitious project, and expressed the hope that the MCD will successfully discharge this onerous responsibility.
MCD special officer Ashwani Kumar said that we working make MCD a paperless office. COVID has given us so much of opportunities of experiments to do for the welfare of the citizens. “We are committed to provide best in class services to the citizens. e-Sanjeevani OPD is a project of National teleconsultation services, under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. MCD is the first civic agency in the country which will provide 24×7 e-Sanjeevani OPD services,” he said.
MCD commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said that Hindu Rao hospital is a 980-bedded multi-speciality hospital. It has evolved to its present form from a 16 bedded small nursing home in 1911. “We are trying to provide maximum services to citizens of Delhi. During the COVID pandemic our doctors, nurses and paramedical staff did commendable work by providing their services day and night to the patients. He said that the objective of this scheme is to provide specialized health care consultation to patients. This scheme will facilitate communication among health care experts for better patient care,” Bharti said.
