An FIR was filed at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru regarding the post, naming the two leaders. The investigating officer has issued summons to them, granting a week for their appearance.
The controversial post featured a video alleging that Congress favoured Muslims for reservation over Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, echoing claims made by several top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in recent days.
The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer directed the state BJP to remove the post and when compliance was not achieved, the Election Commission issued a notice to X on Tuesday to take it down.
