jharkhand train derailment: Train services were severely disrupted on Saturday after two goods trains derailed in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district under the South Eastern Railway’s (SER) Adra division, leading to the cancellation and diversion of several express and passenger trains.
According to SER officials, the accident occurred in the early hours when the two goods trains were passing each other in opposite directions between Chandil and Nimdih stations. Initial reports suggest that a few carriages of one train derailed and collided with the middle portion of the oncoming train, causing some of its wagons to derail as well. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Adra Division) Vikash Kumar confirmed that both the up and down tracks from Chandil remain blocked, and restoration work is underway to resume normal train movement as soon as possible.
Train Cancellations and Diversions Impact Passengers
