Dinesh Vaghela, a prominent figure and founding member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has passed away in Goa following a brief illness, confirmed an AAP official on Tuesday.

Dinesh Vaghela, aged 73, breathed his last at his residence in Panaji during Monday night, informed Valmiki Naik, AAP’s vice president in Goa.

Recognised as one of the earliest members to join the AAP after the India Against Corruption movement, Dinesh Vaghela held a significant position within the party, serving as a member of its National Executive.

Hailing from Gujarat originally, he had made Goa his home. Additionally, he was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the AAP’s disciplinary committee, according to information available on the party’s official website.

Naik conveyed that Vaghela’s final rites are scheduled to take place at the St Inez Crematorium near Panaji later in the day, marking the end of an era for AAP and its members.
