PM Modi, during his speech, thanked Mahatama Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar for sacrificing their lives for country’s independence.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while leading the Independence Day celebration at Red Fort, set a goal for developed country in next 25 years. Prime Minister, while addressing the nation from the rampart of Red Fort, said that India must be a developed country when it celebrates the Centenary of Independence.
Before starting the celebrations for 75 years of India’s Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Mahatama Gandhi at Raj Ghat. Modi arrived at Red Fort where he hoisted the tricolour.
PM Modi, during his speech, thanked Mahatama Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar for sacrificing their lives for country’s independence. He asked people to come forward with five pledges to fulfill the dreams of freedom fighters by 2047. President Droupadi, in her speech on the eve of Independence Day, had also said for the pledges. The Prime Minister’s request to take five pledges for 2047 are developed India, removing any sign of servility, pride in heritage, unity and fulfilling the duties.
PM Modi, in his address, said, “It is our endeavor that the youth of the country should get a lot of help for research from the boundless space to the depths of the ocean. That’s why we are expanding the space mission, the Deep Ocean Mission. The solution to our future lies in the depths of space and ocean.”
He said that there are two big challenges before the country. The first Challenge is corruption and the second challenge is nepotism and familism. “Corruption is hollowing the country like a termite, the country will have to fight it. It is our effort that those who have looted the country should also be returned, we are trying,” the PM said.
PM Modi said that when he talks about nepotism and familism, people think he is talking about politics only. No, unfortunately that evil in the political field has nurtured familism in every institution of India. This mentality is not going to end until corruption and hatred towards the corrupt are not created, they do not compel them to look down on them socially.
