The lower house required 289 seats for majority while the projections have agreed that that the President and his allies would fall well short of that. It has been predicted that the Macron-alliance is winning 200-260 seats and Nupes securing 149-200. Since the first estimate announced, Nupe’s office celebrated it with zeal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated Macron for his win in French elections. Modi tweeted, “Congratulations to my friend @EmmanuelMacron on being re-elected as the President of France! I look forward to continue working together to deepen the India-France Strategic Partnership.”
His re-election in the lections had reported a huge relief in Europe after fears that a Le Pen presidency would leave the continent rudderless. With this, 53-year-old Marine Le Pen lost three elections for French President. In 2017, Emmanuel Macron had defeated her.
