Noida: Supertech twin towers which had become a symbol of corruption have finally been razed by authorities on Sunday. The structures were brought down at sharp 2:30 pm after a massive implosion in which nearly 3700 kilograms of explosives were used. The blast occurred for nearly nine seconds and the entire area came to a standstill. Though there is debris at the site everything happened as per the plan. The nearby societies are reportedly safe as no untoward incident has taken place.
Since all arrangements were in place, Supertech twin towers demolished as per its schedule on Sunday. The towers- Apex & Ceyane, stands at 103 and 97 metres respectively, were razed using more than 3,700 kilograms of explosives. Both the giant structures were collapse at sharp 2:30 pm in just nine seconds while next few minutes took to settle dust generated after the implosion. The action was taken place after the Supreme Court’s order to raze both the illegally constructed buildings.
As per the agencies involved in razing the towers, a special dust machine has been put in place to check dust and pollution after the implosion. Residents living in the Emerald Court Society, where both the towers were erected by violating norms, were already been evacuated safely to some other locations, security guards deployed in the society had also shifted to safer locations. Water and power connections of the society have been disconnected.
Now the authorities will clear nearly 55,000 tonnes of debris generated from demolition. It is being said that the debris is nearly 3000 trucks.

To raze the towers, over 3700 kilograms of explosive were inserted into nearly 7,000 holes in the pillars. When blast took place in these holes and helped in crashing pillars of both the buildings resulting in demolition of the structures.
Earlier, local administration had completed evacuation of nearly 7000 people living in Emerald Court society and ATS Village society which is located in close proximity. The evacuation work was completed before 7 am on Sunday.
