DELHI DOUBLE MURDER: In a shocking incident during Diwali celebrations in Delhi’s Shahdara, a man and his teenage nephew were shot dead outside their home over a money dispute on Thursday night. The tragic event unfolded in the Farsh Bazar area and was captured on CCTV, bringing to light the deadly escalation of a family conflict.
The victims, 44-year-old Akash Sharma and his 16-year-old nephew, Rishabh Sharma, were celebrating Diwali by bursting firecrackers with Akash’s son, 15-year-old Krish Sharma, around 8 pm when they were ambushed. A 17-year-old, who is reportedly a distant relative and the mastermind behind the attack, allegedly hired the shooter after a financial disagreement with Akash.

In the CCTV footage, the suspect is seen approaching the victims on a two-wheeler. He briefly touches Akash’s feet in a gesture of respect, while the shooter stands nearby. Moments later, the shooter fires multiple rounds at Akash, killing him and wounding his son, Krish. As Rishabh chased the fleeing assailants, he too was shot dead.

According to police officials, the 17-year-old had lent Akash Sharma Rs 70,000 a month ago. After Akash allegedly failed to repay the money or respond to the teen’s calls, tensions escalated, leading to the fatal confrontation. The accused reportedly planned the attack 17 days in advance.
A senior police official confirmed that the minor suspect already faced a prior attempted murder charge. Meanwhile, Akash Sharma had filed several serious allegations, including rape and murder charges, against the suspect and his brother, Yogesh Sharma, who is the father of the deceased Rishabh.
Authorities have detained the 17-year-old and are further investigating the case.
