Minutes after reports of seizure of crores in cash and gold coins, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other senior AAP leaders termed is a political vendetta. The Delhi CM said alleged that Jain is being framed as AAP is gaining lead in upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

Kejriwal, in a tweet, also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying, “At this time, the Prime Minister is with full force behind the Aam Aadmi Party – especially the governments of Delhi and Punjab. Lie on lie, lie on lie. You have the power of all agencies, But God is with us.”

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, in a tweet, said, “BJP has broken all limits of lies and shamelessness! Only 2 lakh 79 thousand rupees have been found at Satyendra Jain’s house. ED searched for hours, but did not find any evidence. Now BJP is making false allegations against anyone by calling them close to Satyendra Jain. How much more can BJP people fall?”

“People of BJP read this paper with tearing eyes @SatyendarJain ED got Rs 2 lakh 79 thousand from the house. Which was not even seized by ED. Because money is honest. Then why is the BJP making a ruckus? So will @SatyendarJain be responsible if someone is caught in the neighborhood of @SatyendarJain ?” tweeted Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.

Earlier in January, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had ‘predicted’ arrest of his minister. Kejriwal, in a press conference, had said, “Modi govt is planning to arrest our Minister @SatyendarJain right before Punjab elections. We welcome them, they can send ED, CBI etc & arrest anyone they want, including me. We’re not afraid as we haven’t done anything wrong.”
