Goa: In a major turn of event, Congress party on Sunday sacked Michael Lobo as the Leader of Opposition of Goa assembly. His dismissal came after reports of its MLAs have been switching the side from Congress to ruling BJP. In a press conference, Congress leaders said that few of its party leaders were hatching conspiracy with BJP leaders to weaken the party. The party alleged that defection is being engineered by its legislatures.
Congress Goa in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the ruling party has been trying to split 2/3rd legislatures of the party to avoid anti-defection. Many of its leaders have been offered huge amounts of money. I’m shocked at the amount offered. But our 6 MLAs stood firm, I’m proud of them.”
He said that his leaders with BJP were hatching conspiracy to damage the party. The conspiracy was led by two Congress legislatures LoP Michael Lobo and Digambar Kamat,” added Dinesh Gundu Rao.
He added that the two leaders were working in coordination with the ruling party. Kamat did it to safeguard his own skin because so many cases are against him and the other MLA – Michael Lobo – for the sake of power and position.
According to the reports, Five Congress MLAs Michael Lobo, Delilah Lobo, Digambar Kamat, Kedar Naik, and Rajesh Faldessai are at the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s house. Kamat had earlier skipped a meeting of Congress MLAs.
