Congress leaders said that an atrocious tweet from the BJP hate factory is doing the rounds.
New Delhi: War of words intensified between the BJP and the Congress a video in which controversial Pastor George Ponnaiah can be heard telling Rahul Gandhi that “Jesus is a real God… unlike Shakti”. Since the video went viral on social media platforms, BJP leaders launched scathing attacks on Rahul Gandhi while the top brass of Congress came in defence of their leader.
Launching the attack, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Jai Hind said, “George Ponnaiah who met Rahul Gandhi says “Jesus is the only God unlike Shakti (& other Gods) “ This man was arrested for his Hindu hatred earlier – he also said “I wear shoes because impurities of Bharat Mata should not contaminate us.” Bharat Jodo with Bharat Todo icons?”
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh hit back at Shehzad Jai Hind by tweeting, “An atrocious tweet from the BJP hate factory is doing the rounds. It bears no relation whatsoever to what is recorded in the audio. This is typical BJP mischief that has become more desperate after the successful launch of #BharatJodoYatra which is evoking such a huge response.”
“People who were responsible for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi and the murders of people like Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, MM Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh are raising questions! What a morbid joke! Such attempts to damage the spirit of #BharatJodoYatra will fail miserably!” Ramesh said in another tweet.
Replying to Jairam Ramesh, BJP spokesperson tweeted, “Jairam Babu – hate factory is when you say “big tree fell, earth shook” & defend Sajjan Kumar for 34 years If George Ponniah has nothing to do with “Bharat Jodo” why was Rahul Gandhi endorsing & legitimising a hate monger who spewed venom against Hindus & Bharat. Rahul Gandhi is seen in agreement in the video when the hate filled man mocks Hindu Gods as “unreal” or fake Is it because of the original Hindu hatred DNA of Congress ? Hindu terror / Saffron terror / Hindutva is ISIS / Shri Ram doesn’t exist/Oppose Bhoomipujan. Have u ever taken action on those who said “Hindu terror” or Hindutva is violent like ISIS? Those who even denied existence of Shri Ram on affidavit during UPA ? Those series of anti Hindu statements by Congress leaders.”
“If Rahul Gandhi has nothing to do with my George why did he meet a person who was jailed for his venom against Bharat Mata – who says Bharat Mata is infected with diseases & hence I wear shoes to avoid its dirt! Does he agree ? Is he your poster boy of Bharat Jodo. This is not Bharat Jodo but NAFRAT JODO TUSHTIKARAN JODO APPEASEMENT JODO VOTEBANK JODO THIS IS BHARAT TODO Do you demand George’s arrest? Yes or no?” he added.
BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya, in a tweet, said, “If meeting a controversial pastor, who is known for his visceral disdain for the majority community and their beliefs, Rahul Gandhi’s idea of “Bharat Jodo”, then this Yatra is nothing but a sham. How can indulging faith supremacists serve the larger society and bring cohesion?”
