Addressing the rally, Gandhi said, “We named this yatra as ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ because thousands of people feel that the ideology of BJP/RSS is breaking the country.”
Bengaluru: BJP and RSS ideology is breaking the country, said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday, who is out on a Bharat Jodo Yatra, in Karnataka’s Ballari.
Addressing the rally, Gandhi said, “We named this yatra as ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ because thousands of people feel that the ideology of BJP/RSS is breaking the country.”
Notably, the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a total distance of 3,570-km, was launched on September 7 from Kanyakumari. The yatra entered its 38th day on Saturday. The yatra is being seen as a strategy by the Congress to improve its chances in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. It will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir.

Gandhi further said, “Why are 2.5 lakh govt posts vacant in Karnataka? If you want to be Police Sub-Inspector you can be one by paying Rs 80 lakhs. If you have money, you can buy a government job in Karnataka. If you don’t have money, you can stay unemployed all your life.”
He also said, “I want to assure all the farmers, labourers and MSMEs that when we come to power, we will help you the way a government should.”
