Police said that they are investigating the matter by scanning the CCTV footages of the area.
Patna: An army person who was going to Patna railway station during the wee hours of Thursday was robbed of his belongings and shot dead by unidentified robbers. The incident took place in Kankarbagh, considered as a posh area in the state capital.
According to reports, the Army person was on his two-wheeler when he was stopped by a group of robbers. The robbers first asked about the route of Patna railway junction and then tried to snatch the bag.
When they were resisted by the Army jawan, the robbers fired at him, leading to his death. The attackers fled from the spot taking his belongings. A police team reached the spot and took his body in possession. His family was informed about the murder and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. Later, the jawan’s body was sent to his native village for the last rites.
The police said that they are investigating the matter by scanning the CCTV footage of the area. “The Army man was heading towards the railway station but was stopped by unidentified attackers who shot him dead. The matter is being investigated,” the police said.
