Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crash | At least 19 people were killed and 70 others injured after a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into a school building in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday. The Chinese-made F-7 aircraft struck the Milestone School and College while classes were in progress, leading to scenes of panic and chaos.
Eyewitnesses reported that flames and black smoke quickly engulfed the area as the aircraft tore through the front of the three-storey school building, trapping students and staff. Visuals from the scene showed students with burn injuries running in confusion while emergency responders rushed to carry the injured to nearby hospitals.
With ambulances initially unavailable, Army personnel and local civilians carried the injured in their arms and transported them in rickshaw vans and private vehicles. Teachers and staff were the first to respond, pulling trapped students from the wreckage before fire and military personnel arrived to assist.
The Bangladesh Air Force confirmed the crash but did not release information about the cause or the status of the pilot.

More than 30 victims were admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, while others were taken to various nearby medical facilities.
Bangladesh’s chief adviser Muhammad Yunus expressed condolences and promised a full investigation. “The loss suffered by the Air Force, students, parents, teachers, and staff of Milestone School and College, as well as others, in this accident is irreparable. This is a moment of deep sorrow for the nation,” he stated.
This incident marks the second crash involving a Chinese-made F-7 aircraft this year. In the previous month, an F-7 fighter jet belonging to the Myanmar Air Force crashed in the Sagaing region, resulting in the pilot’s death.
