Dr Ranjit Kumar Singh is the Principal and Head of the Department, Geology, at the Model College Rajmahal, Sahibganj, under the Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Jharkhand. Dr Ranjit Kumar Singh is an avid environmentalist and a specialist in paleosciences. Dr Ranjit Kumar Singh has taken part in several research works and his constant endeavours to protect the Rajmahal Hills, water resources and preservation of fossils in the area among other works are widely noted. An ex-syndicate member, Dr Ranjit Kumar Singh was nominated by Governor cum chancellor jharkhand Srimati Dropadi Murmu, presently President of India.
