Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Madhya Pradesh’ programme on Thursday via video conferencing, marking a significant stride towards the comprehensive development of the state.
During the programme, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a plethora of development projects worth approximately Rs 17,000 crores, spanning vital sectors such as irrigation, power, transportation, water supply, coal and industry. Among the notable initiatives was the launch of the Cyber Tehsil project, aimed at revolutionizing administrative processes in Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister commenced his address by extending heartfelt condolences for the tragic loss of lives in a recent road accident in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh. Assuring support for those affected, he emphasized solidarity with the people of Madhya Pradesh during this challenging time.
Highlighting the essence of collective progress, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of state-level development in realizing the vision of a developed India.

He underscored the importance of commemorating both the rich heritage and contemporary advancements, symbolized by the upcoming Vikramotsav celebration in Madhya Pradesh, alongside the installation of the Vedic Clock in Ujjain, signifying a blend of tradition and modernity.

The Prime Minister elaborated on the diverse range of development projects aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure and livelihoods of its residents. From irrigation and electricity to sports facilities and community infrastructure, the initiatives underscored the government’s commitment to fostering holistic growth.
Notable among these initiatives were the commencement of major water projects on the Maa Narmada river, which are poised to address irrigation challenges and drinking water shortages, particularly in tribal regions. The Prime Minister also lauded the ambitious Ken-Betwa river linking project for its potential to transform lives in the Bundelkhand region.
Emphasizing agricultural reforms, Prime Minister Modi outlined plans for the construction of extensive storage facilities to address storage shortages and enhance food security. Additionally, he reiterated the government’s focus on empowering rural communities through cooperative initiatives, expanding beyond traditional sectors to include grains, fruits, vegetables, and fisheries.
The Prime Minister also spotlighted the government’s commitment to resolving rural property disputes through the PM Svamitva Yojana, which aims to provide clarity on property rights through comprehensive surveys and issuance of Svamitva Cards.
In line with the government’s digital India initiative, the Cyber Tehsil project was inaugurated, promising streamlined digital solutions for administrative procedures, furthering efficiency and transparency in governance.
Addressing the aspirations of the youth, Prime Minister Modi assured support for industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh, envisioning the state as a cornerstone of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. He highlighted specific projects aimed at bolstering industries such as leather, textiles, and toy manufacturing, thereby creating opportunities for employment and economic growth.
