Mumbai: At least three persons died and 10 others were injured after a portion of a residential building on Tuesday collapsed in Mumbai’s Kurla area around midnight.
Among those declared brought dead at a hospital are two men of 28 and 30. The injured were taken to Ghatkopar and Sion hospitals. A wing of the residential building, located in Kurla’s Naik Nagar Society, collapsed.
The NDRF and fire brigade teams are engaged in rescue operations. While initially around 15 to 20 people were believed to be trapped under debris, the rescuers later said the numbers may vary.
Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray reached the spot in the night and took stock of the rescue operations.
