Bhopal: A massive fire broke out on the third floor of Vallabh Bhawan, the Madhya Pradesh secretariat, on Saturday morning. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered an investigation into the matter.
No injuries or casualties have been reported so far. The fire, originating on the third floor of the Secretariat building, swiftly spread, enveloping the structure in thick clouds of smoke.

Rameshwar Neel, the Fire Officer of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, said, “Firefighters have successfully contained the blaze, and efforts are ongoing. Presently, only smoke is emanating from the third floor where documents are stored.”
Neel further mentioned that fifteen to twenty fire tenders have been deployed for assistance.
According to sources, sanitation workers first noticed smoke at Vallabh Bhawan around 9:30 am and called the fire brigade.
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said, “It has come to my knowledge that a fire broke out on the third floor of the old building of Vallabh Bhavan. On the basis of the information received from the Collector, I told the chief secretary to monitor it and collect detailed information on the incident. I have also been told that the fire has been brought under control. We have issued directions to ensure that no such incident occurs again.”
