On Saturday, two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists – identified as Sultan Pathan and Zabiullah – from Pakistan were shot dead in an encounter that broke out in the Mirhama area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam.

New Delhi: Amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were shot dead by security forces on Sunday. Security forces gunned them down in an encounter in Pahoo area of Pulwama district. This is the third encounter in last three days in the valley.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “#PulwamaEncounterUpdate: 01 more #terrorist killed (Total 03), affiliated with #proscribed #terror outfit LeT. Search #operation in progress. Further details shall follow.@JmuKmrPolice,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
Ahead of the PM’s visit, security forces had gunned down six terrorists in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. The security was beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday as Prime Minister Modi visited the Union Territory to address panchayats on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas.

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh had earlier said the two terrorists were part of a suicide squad of Pakistan-based JeM and their infiltration was suspected to be a “big conspiracy” to sabotage the Prime Minister’s visit.
