Imran Khan News: Adiala Jail authorities on Wednesday dismissed widespread social media rumours claiming that former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan had been moved out of the facility or was in a critical condition. Some reports even claimed the Imran Khan was murdered inside the jail.
Officials confirmed that the PTI founder remains inside the Rawalpindi prison, is in “good health,” and is receiving full medical care. “The reports are baseless,” jail officials told Geo News, responding to online speculation that had intensified over the past few days.
Rumours spiralled after unverified social media handles—including one titled “Afghanistan Times”—claimed Imran Khan had been killed and that his body was moved out of Adiala Jail. No credible agency or government department has confirmed these claims.
PTI, meanwhile, has demanded an official government response and urged authorities to immediately facilitate a meeting between Imran Khan and his family, which has reportedly been denied for over a month.

Concerns grew further after Imran Khan’s three sisters demanded an impartial probe into what they described as a “brutal and orchestrated” assault by Punjab police on them and PTI supporters during a peaceful protest outside the jail last week. “At the age of 71, I was seized by my hair and dragged across the road,” Noreen Niazi alleged, detailing the injuries she sustained.
Imran Khan Remains in Custody
Imran Khan, jailed since August 2023 in multiple cases, has seen continuous restrictions on prison meetings. Even Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Sohail Afridi failed to secure an appointment despite seven attempts.
Adiala Jail officials reiterated that Khan’s health is stable and that the circulating claims are “entirely baseless.”
