New Delhi: The maximum temperature of the national capital on Monday settled at 40.8 Degree Celsius, which is two notches warmer than the normal temperature for this time of the year, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The relative humidity recorded at the Safdarjung observatory, in the morning at 8:30 am was 61 per cent and 38 per cent in the evening at 5:30 pm.
The weather stations at Ridge, Ayanagar, Mungeshpur, Najafgarh, Pitampura, Palam, and Lodhi Road recorded maximum temperatures of 41.4 degrees Celsius, 40.6 degrees Celsius, 41.7 degrees Celsius, 42.5 degrees Celsius, 41.3 degrees Celsius, 40.6 degrees Celsius and 39.8 degrees Celsius respectively, stated the IMD data.
The IMD on Monday predicted fall in maximum temperatures by 3-4°C very likely over most parts of Northwest India during next three days.
While informing about the thunderstorm, the IMD said that Thunderstorm and gusty winds very likely over Northwest India till 04th may; over East India and south Peninsular India till 06th May and over Northeast India till May 3.
