House Republicans are moving forward with legislation that would honor late conservative activist Charlie Kirk by minting nearly half a million commemorative silver dollar coins bearing his likeness.
Later this week, Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-Ariz.) and Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger (R-Texas) are expected to file the measure, which asks the US Treasury to produce 400,000 silver dollar coins featuring the name and face of the Turning Point USA founder.
Republican lawmakers want the coin to display Kirk’s visage on one side, along with the words “well done, good and faithful servant” on the other. The coins would also carry Kirk’s full name, “Charles James Kirk,” the year 2026, and the official name and motto of the United States.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Hamadeh said, “Congress has approved commemorative coins since 1892 to commemorate and honor historic American patriots.” Calling Kirk an “American treasure,” he added, “Ultimately, at the hands of a radical leftist, he sacrificed his life.”
Pfluger Calls the Coin a ‘Fitting Honor’
Pfluger described Kirk as a “conservative titan” and said he deserved recognition alongside the most prominent figures in American history. “This commemorative coin will make Charlie the youngest American ever immortalized on legal U.S. currency, a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic,” Pfluger told Newsweek.

The proposed legislation follows a series of Republican-backed resolutions and measures introduced since Kirk’s death. The 31-year-old Trump supporter was killed on September 10 while overseeing a debate at a college in Utah. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been taken into custody and charged in the shooting, which officials said came from a single shot fired from a neighboring rooftop.
In addition to the coin proposal, lawmakers in Oklahoma have introduced a bill mandating that all state universities install and maintain monuments in Kirk’s honor.
