New Delhi: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and finance minister Rishi Sunak will have to pay fine for breaching Covid lockdown laws in what has become known as the “Partygate” scandal, a Downing Street spokeswoman said Tuesday. Police has reportedly said that over 50 fines have been issued for not disclosing the number or identities in the parties.

Reacted over the development, Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party. Member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras demanded resignation of both Johnson and Sunak. He tweeted, “Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have broken the law and repeatedly lied to the British public. They must both resign. The Conservatives are totally unfit to govern. Britain deserves better.”
