A powerful explosion shook Kanpur’s Mishri Bazaar area under the Mulganj Police Station on Wednesday evening, injuring six people, including one woman. The blast, which occurred around 7.15 pm, caused panic in the busy locality after two parked scooters suddenly exploded.
According to Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Ashutosh Kumar, the blast was powerful and triggered an immediate emergency response. “In the Mishri Bazaar area under the Mulganj Police Station, two scooters were parked today in which a blast occurred,” Joint CP Kumar said.
All the injured individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors have confirmed that their condition is stable and they are out of danger.
Police Begin Investigation, Forensic Team at Scene
The forensic team has reached the blast site to determine the cause of the explosion. “Our forensic team is present at the scene, and we are investigating what could be the cause of this,” Kumar added.

The police have already traced the scooter involved in the incident and plan to question the riders to establish the circumstances behind the explosion. “We have traced the scooter, and inquiries will also be made with those who were riding it. Whether this is an accident or a conspiracy will only be known later,” the Joint CP said.
Public Safety Measures Stepped Up
The woman injured in the blast is receiving special attention, and the local administration has assured the public that all necessary safety and security measures are being implemented to prevent further incidents.
