A shocking incident occurred near the Indian Parliament on Wednesday when Jitendra, a man from Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh, set himself on fire. The incident took place around 3:35 PM in a park near Rail Bhawan, the headquarters of Indian Railways. Civilians at the scene quickly extinguished the flames, and Jitendra was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi for treatment.
Key Findings at the Scene
Police discovered a half-burnt, two-page note at the site of the incident. The content of the note is yet to be revealed as investigations are ongoing. In addition to the charred document, petrol was found at the scene, suggesting premeditation.
DCP Devesh Kumar Mahla confirmed that local police, railway police, and civilians worked together to extinguish the flames and transport the man to the hospital. Preliminary findings suggest the act may be linked to personal enmity in Bagpat. Forensic teams have sealed the area and are thoroughly examining the evidence.

The Police provided the following update: “The local police, railway police, and some civilians quickly managed to extinguish the flames, and the man was sent to the hospital. Preliminary findings suggest the incident may be linked to personal enmity in Bagpat. Further investigations are ongoing.”
Jitendra sustained severe burns and remains under critical care at RML Hospital. Officials are hopeful for his recovery as the investigation continues to uncover the reasons behind this distressing act.
